In a meadow in Oudsbergen, 2 Shetland ponies were bitten to death by one or more wolves last night. Mayor Marco Goossens of Oudsbergen (CD&V) wants action to be taken. “In total, about 40 animals have already fallen victim to the wolf. Animal welfare in Oudsbergen is at risk, our residents are worried and I am convinced that we can now speak of a problem wolf,” says Mayor Goossens.

According to Mayor Goossens, there is no longer any support for the wolf in Limburg. “We can no longer speak of a shy wolf. The measures such as wolf-proof fences do not help sufficiently and the attacks continue to increase. The support that we have carefully built up has long since disappeared.”
