Project Vision & Mission

Our vision is to make hunting.be a news site and meeting place of the hunters in Belgium. On the one hand via the current blogentries, on the other hand creating a meeting place by collecting on the site pages all hunting related information.

Our ambition is to reach the entire target audience of hunters on a monthly basis mainly through daily news on the blog. We also try to help aspiring hunters in their education through www.jachtexamen.be.

Our goal is to improve communication around hunting to the hunting community, as well as to the general public and interest groups and policymakers.
Initially primarily through the site, later certainly through new initiatives yet to be developed.

Hunting.com

The most important thing about hunting.be is the website. Here we distinguish the following main elements:

Blog

A daily serving of news from the Hunting World.
Our editor surfs the net, reads every hunting book, browses all the magazines and brings you the most interesting news, every day, short, concise and ready for you immediately.

Reference material

Making available existing and new reference materials around topics such as:

• Hunting game, the known species but also a complete overview of dogs, predators, …;
• Legislation: texts, opening dates, (Flanders and Wallonia), …
• Hunting tips: A collection of useful tips around hunting. Found on the net or chronicled from seasoned hunters.
• And furthermore all hunting related info around Weapons, as well as Hunting Horn Music, Travel, …

Hunting Exam Preparation

This is specifically aimed at Aspirant Hunters who are taking the Hunting Course and want to take and pass the exam. This section has since been fully incorporated into the separate website – Jachtexamen.be

Editorial Board

Hunting.be’s editorial team is made up of the following editors with a passion for Hunting:

• Nickolay Smet: initiator and editor-in-chief
• Tom Van de Maele: Former FACE legal lobbyist, legal affairs editor, account manager for Mikx outdoor wholesale.
• Jules Deleersnijder: Young entrepreneur with two shoe stores in Boom, Schoenen Jules. As a young boy, Jules could always be found family hunting in the Dutch polders.
• Axel Maes: Axel is a young entrepreneur with a passion for hunting and nature Axel founded Wildax in 2019, an online platform for the purchase of game.
  Kristof Lequeu: Kristof is an avid hunter with a lot of reindeer knowledge, since a few years he also hunts with the bow. Furthermore, he represents Belgium for the international organization WILDJAEGER.
• Nicolas Blyeart: Young passionate hunter as ambassador for Zeiss and Sauer.
• Michiel Van Heupen: The mastermind together with Axel Maes behind the social media account Huntingcousins. They also make videos and post them on their youtube channel.
