Aquatic Game – Table Duck

All about the table duck.

Table Duck

Class: aves
Order: anseriformes
Family: anitidae
Genus: anatinae
Species: aythya ferina

The taffy duck is a herbivore but it also forages for mussels, especially duck and triangular mussels.
The taffy duck has a reddish-brown head and a gray body. The dark bill with the slate-gray saddle is typical. The duck is dark but has a pale eye stripe, making it easily distinguishable from other diving duck females. Table ducks are being noticed more and more on urban ponds. There we see them gobbling up bread.
