Registration is with a departmental hunting federation of your choice.
Preferably avoid the departments located along the Belgian border. Apparently these have an overbooking due to the rush of our Walloon colleagues.

Procedure
After registration, the candidate is invited to attend 2 training sessions. These take place several times a year. About every 2 months, as do the exams, for that matter.
The training consists of a theoretical part (1 day) and a practical part (1/2 day). Both parts are compulsory and inseparable. After the practical part you will already receive a date for the exam (about 1 month later).
Theory
One receives for free a booklet with 400 multiple-choice test questions. These are literally the possible questions for the exam. During the training, the main focus is on these questions and some 200 are already practiced with some explanation.
One can also purchase a DVD with the videos and questions from the exam for the price of 9 €.
Practice
During class practice, you literally practice the course and the mandatory manipulation of the weapon as it will have to be done on the exam.
This is done in a small group of 3 people and very relaxed.
Exam
The exam theory and practice take place on 1 day
One starts with the practical part where one can get 21 points, and where everything is solely about safety.
Course + manipulation smoothing weapon
One runs from position to position taking 2 obstacles (discharge and inspection weapon).
From 3 positions, 2 clays take off each time. Some fly toward silhouettes or buildings.
At the end, the inspector asks you to safely store the weapon in a car.
Practice smooth-running weapon
One may choose between a superposé or a semi-auto to shoot 6 clays.
Again, some small ones leave for a silhouette or have a distinct color which represents a protected species.
No SINGLE clay should actually be touched.
Practice Coarse Game Battue
In doing so, one must posture according to the rules of the art as is proper in a battue.
Preparation by taking the necessary precautions, safe corners, scouting surroundings , neighbor hunters, …
Hunting initiation by leaving a running boar on which to shoot 2 x with a 7 x 64.
Hitting again is not a commitment.
Theory
After this practical part (about 20min. ), 10 theoretical questions will be asked.
In this, 1 question is an exclusion question about safety.
There is no guesswork!
To pass, the exclusion question must be correct and you must have an overall score 25 out of 31.
The result follows immediately and if you pass you will receive immediate proof of passing and hunting license.
Hunting leave
Then just validate this certificate of success online for the or departments of your choice or nationally and one may hunt in France.
Of course, the hunting license is also valid as a certificate in Belgium.
