GDPR

Since May 25, 2018, new European privacy regulations have come into effect. This is the so-called “Global Data Protection Regulation,” or GDPR for short – in Dutch: Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming. The GDPR regulation replaces the national privacy laws of all European member states and applies to anyone who keeps or processes personal data.

Personal data processing policy

In the context of its activity hunting.be, as conducted through the website of the same name, The Outdoor Company BV (with registered office located at Nieuweweg 42, 2530 Boechout, with company number 0742496693) collects and processes personal data of registered and non-registered visitors to the website www.hunting.be. Such personal data are processed in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016 (“General Data Protection Regulation”). With this policy document The Outdoor Company BV wishes to explain to you the nature and scope of data processing and also the rights available to you in this context.

Data processing

Of all users, including those who have not registered on the website www.hunting.be, The Outdoor Company BV may process IP addresses. The Outdoor Company BV does this to monitor and, if necessary, adjust the proper technical operation of the website. The Outdoor Company BV also collects data to be able to analyze the penetration of the website www.hunting.be, how many unique visitors it periodically receives and possibly their interaction with advertising on this website. These data are important to be able to optimize the revenue model as this model pays for the operation of the website. The data collected by The Outdoor Company BV regarding the use of the website are processed in general analysis reports, without saving individualized (surfing) behavior.

In view of the foregoing The Outdoor Company BV processes the personal data referred to above generally for the promotion of the legitimate interests of The Outdoor Company BV and taking into account the legitimate privacy expectations of the users.

Retention period

The Outdoor Company BV, processes the personal data of the non-registered visitor as long as this is necessary for the proper functioning of the website with a maximum of 1 year. At the end of this period the personal data of the non-registered visitor will be permanently deleted.

Registered Visitors

In addition, The Outdoor Company BV collects information from the registered visitor when registering on the website www.hunting.be. For the above purposes we may manage and process the following personal data from you:

  • Personal identity data : name, first name, address, e-mail
  • Personal characteristics: gender
  • Characteristics in relation to hunting information
    • Hunting Profile: Hunter, Aspiring Hunter, Tracker, Field Ranger, Qualified Person, hunting leave type
    • Hunting dog: keeper, breed
    • Hunting area: small game/ big game, function, location
    • WBE: name, function

The Outdoor Company BV will process these additional personal data of the registered visitor specifically and exclusively:

  • indicating the messages (posts, comments, …) posted by the user concerned himself and this, if possible, in accordance with the (visibility) settings indicated by the user himself;
  • To enable traceability of messages to the extent that they violate general (legal or regulatory) obligations or third-party rights;
  • To keep registered visitors informed of activities and news within the forum on the www.hunting.be website.

These additional personal data are processed based on the express consent of the registered visitor, which is given when registering on the website www.hunting.be.

The Outdoor Company BV will process the personal data of the registered visitor as long as the latter’s consent is not withdrawn. Insofar as the registered visitor proceeds to revoke the consent, The Outdoor Company BV will permanently delete his/her personal data. However, the registered visitor will at all times have the right to withdraw the given permission by means of a simple request sent to webmaster@hunting.be.

Provision to third parties

The Outdoor Company BV undertakes not to disclose the personal data of both registered and non-registered visitors to third parties nor to use them for other purposes unless with the prior specific permission of the person concerned. Exceptions to this are (i) processing on behalf of The Outdoor Company BV by hosting providers or other processors and (ii) when The Outdoor Company BV is ordered or requested by a police or judicial authority to provide certain information.

Data security

The Outdoor Company BV takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the personal data of the (registered/unregistered) visitor against accidental or unauthorized destruction, against accidental loss as well as any other unauthorized processing of personal data.

Every visitor has the right at all times to inspect his/her personal data free of charge and may correct them (or have them corrected) if they are incorrect or incomplete, have them removed if there are grounds to do so or, if there are grounds to do so, have their processing restricted. These rights can be exercised at all times by sending a request to The Outdoor Company BV via webmaster@hunting.be or the postal address, where the registered visitor will prove his/her identity by means of his/her identity card and stating his/her address and the non-registered visitor will state his/her IP address and prove that it concerns his/her IP address.

Complaints

In case a visitor feels disrespected in the respect of their rights with respect to the processing of personal data, they may always contact The Outdoor Company BV or, whether or not a contact with The Outdoor Company BV does not lead to the desired result, the Data Protection Authority (Press Street 35, 1000 Brussels).
