New implementing decree published in the Belgian Official Gazette





On Tuesday 5 May 2020, Belgian arms legislation will be enriched again with a new implementing decree signed by the King on 23 April 2020. The new decree concerns the following matters:declaration of neutralised firearms lending scheme for hunters in the longer termelectronic sending of documents regulated in the Arms Act duration European firearm pass notification obligation for arms dealers to report attempts at suspicious transactions to the local police. End of free availability of neutralized firearms





On 5 May 2020, a Royal Decree was published in the Belgian Official Gazette regulating the obligation to declare neutralised firearms.

From 5 June 2020, neutralised firearms will no longer be freely available, a transfer form model 9ter will always have to be drawn up.

Those who already own neutralized firearms have until March 14, 2021 to register them.
