The former French record for Red Deer, taken at LOZÈRE in 2001, had stood for 24 years with its 237.66 pt CIC…….

“. Records are made to be broken” as my president Alain FRANÇOIS told me when he validated this record!

With 239.28 points, he beat the previous record by only 1.62 CIC points.

This new record is characterized by a solid and compact trophy, without excesses! …..

Some comparisons:

Old vs New

LOZÈRE department. nu CÔTES D’ARMORAverage length of the rods 113 cm 103.4 cmCircumference of the roses. 29.6cm 33.35 cm
NET weight of the trophy 10.9 kg. 10.64 Kg
Total enden 17 cor, 18 cors

In addition to the length, clearly in favor of the LOZERIAN, the difference is made at a number of small points, circumference of the roses, high circumference of the rods, span…..

This region of Brittany, the CÔTES D’ARMOR, is clearly in the process of being conquered by deer and is proving to be favourable to the production of large trophies in terms of both biotope and population quality.
This, combined with the good management of the species so far, means that we can now see wildlife that ….. aging, but we must be careful not to fall into the trap of “undifferentiated” labels, which would eliminate any management of the species.
Another exceptionally large deer with more than 215 points will pass the national committee at the next GAME FAIR from the 22nd, so let’s hope it’s not the last in this fine series.
