Good news from the sector: with 550 candidates for the theoretical hunting exam, which takes place next Saturday, the hunting industry is signing up for a record number of registrations this year.
How to explain that success?
Corona. ‘With the rediscovery of nature by the obligation to stay at home, there is an interest in wildlife,’ says HVV director Geert Van den Bosch.
Ethics. ‘Hunting provides practical answers to modern philosophical questions such as: how do I relate to meat, how do I relate to my environment and its future?’
Imaging. ‘The hunting sector is no longer closed, but open, and it shows that. This makes it easier for interested parties, who recognize themselves in the diversity shown, to take the step.’
