Hunting revival care

By December 2, 2019No Comments

Every beginning of the month our section on the Revier care. This fits in with our hunting.be tips department and is therefore kept there (hunting.be tips).
With thanks to Paul Wyndaele, author of the book Blijvend Jagen.

Winter months
December, January, February

Small game
Towards the end of this period, it is important to spread out the feeding places and choose them strategically. At the end of February, the Partridges and Pheasant hens disperse to find their breeding grounds.
Big game
In severe winter, supplementary feeding with concentrates may be necessary. If necessary, anti-worming medicine can also be administered here. In severe freezing weather, moist food is recommended, such as apples or cut beets. And, in mid-January, the Roe Deer Hunt starts. The counts and identification can already start.
Fieldwork
To rejuvenate the cover, parts of forest edges can be shortened and thus provide young wood. Also cast some lime on forest edges and hedges and, where possible, plant elder bushes.
Equipment
After hunting, there is time for winter work. Preparing the high seats or sit-down screens, feeding sets, water troughs. The planning for the game fields can also be drawn up. Be sure not to forget the highly sought-after Broom.
Predators
In the month of January it is mating season with the foxes. An ideal opportunity to encounter and combat Foxes during the day.
