The Glorious TwelfthToday is the 12th of August, here and also in Great Britain.
Nothing special with us, but across the pond, the hunting day of the year, The Glorious Twelfth. The opening day for the Grouse.
Unfortunately, this is not for everyone. It is mainly in the price. Between 150 and 200 £ per brace. Yes you read that right, a sloppy 200 to 250 euros for 2 birds. Or for a full group of 8 guns, but including accommodation, commission, tips, ammunition, food and drinks, you will come to a sloppy 65,000 euros for a day in Grouse.
But not on the Glorious Twelfth, then you can only be there at the invitation of the Lord of Moor owner, or if you dig a little deeper into your pockets.
On the other hand, this year quite a few hunting days are cancelled or even the entire season is closed. This is due to bad weather at the beginning of the summer. In any case, the price will go closer to 200 £ per brace.
For those who can’t make it this year, below is some reading material.
For the unique Belgian who does get to experience it, please a report.
