Waterfowl – Shoveler

All about the shoveler duck.

Shoveler duck

Class: aves
Order: anseriformes
Family: anitidae
Genus: anatinae
Species: anas clypeata

The duck resembles the bloke duck in color but the huge spatula-shaped beak stands out. In the duck it is brown but in the duck it is glossy black.
Shovelers are lighter in build than the bloke duck and the sharper wings seem to be built a little more backward. They fly more dexterously, their turns and raids on the water are faster. On the water, the motley duck can be seen from very far away and resembles a shelduck. The shoveler usually seeks shallow water such as flooded meadows where it takes in all kinds of plants and aquatic animals while slobbering.
