All about the feral cat.

Feral Cat

Not to be confused with the Wild Cat ! This species is protected.

There are people who take their sweet kitty to the woods as the vacations approach. Mat that dastardly deed spares them the expense and burden of a shelter or lodging with friends. Most of those dropped cats suffer hardships and die of starvation. The strongest among them, however, will survive and not make the trek back to the homes. Driven by their instincts, those cats become formidable predators in the free range. They develop into real destroyers and brutal carnivores. From the moment they pass the mourning stage and have the tricks of the robber trade under their sharp claws, feral cats can wreak real havoc. The cats can sit patiently for hours waiting at the entrance to a rabbit warren to kill the unsuspecting bunny one by one. Some of these cats grow beyond their normal weight (up to 7 kg) and can easily take on an adult hare or rabbit. They adapt extremely well in their feral state. They rapidly increase in numbers and become as cunning as other predators such as polecat, ermine and fox.
