Black roe deer originate from Germany where the first descriptions of this species appeared in the 980s. According to some sources, the Bishop of the city of Minden and Milo asked for a number of black deer for his kitchen every year. The current population was imported by a German count from northwestern Spain in the 16thcentury.<\/sup> <\/p>\n The largest number of black roe deer can currently be found around Hannover. In the year 1933, 90% of the roe deer population was black because all red roe deer were shot in order to obtain a pure black population. <\/p>\n Black deer are now naturally found in the north of the Netherlands. The air had a soft warmth during this period, not too hot but above all humid. On the ground was the moisture of a recent rainstorm that penetrated the dark earth. <\/p>\n My shoes got wet when I walked through the gas to the place where my wildlife camera had spotted this unique buck.<\/p>\n Not a deer to be seen until I stopped at a junction of two lanes. Suddenly movement again. I didn’t have to make a choice anymore! The black buck stepped on the avenue at 45 m in front of me. <\/p>\n I shoulder my carbine and see it clearly in my rifle scope. The bullet leaves and finds its meeting point. <\/p>\n Still impressed by his sudden appearance and by the adrenaline of the shot, I approached the black buck that was still covered by the long grass.<\/p>\n I knelt down, took off my carbine and took its head out of the grass so that I could see this majestic black buck.
